Holcombo-Glcason. The Methodist church was tho sccno of a very protty wedding Tuesday afternoon, when Miss LUcia Frnnccs Glen-son, only daughter of John E, Glcnson, was married to Lawrence Holcombo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gcorgo N. Holcombo of Southwick, Mass. The church was decorated by a group of tho brldo's friends, tho color scheme being yellow, green nnd white. Arches wero formed over tho aisles. A profusion of llowcrs, ferns and shrubs mndo a charming background for the wedding group. At 2 o'clock tho bridal party entered the church to tho strains of tho Bridal Chorus frqm Lohengrin, played by Mrs. Henry Dibble of Grnnby, Conn., sister of tho bridegroom. The ushers. Martin II. Gleason nnd James D. Gleason, brothers of tho bride, Gcorgo N. Holcombo, jr., and Lumnn A. Holcombo, brothers ot tho bridegroom, wero followed liv the bridesmaid, Miss Amv Wooden of nratticooro, who immediately preceded inc undo on tho arm ot her father. Tho bridegroom and tho best man. Orlo D Jackson of Southwick, met tho other mcmucrs ot tno uridai party at tho al tar, tiic ceremony was performed by Rev. Ashfleld Ashford of this place, assisted by Rev. Alfred Birks of Natick, Mass. The bride woro a whito embroidered net gown, trimmed with Venetian lnce Her long tulle veil was caught with lIlieM-Ol-Ilie-Vni PV. N in onrHml n shower bouquet of white roses nnd lilies- ol-the-valley. The bridesmaid wore a gown of blue taffeta silk and carried a bouquet of white roses. TOllowing the ceremonv a roeentinn was held in tho town hall, where Mr. and Mrs. Holcombo received the good wishes of their friends. The hall was decorated in the same colors as at tho church. Tho refreshments wero served by Ruby Perry and Edith Kidder of wardsboro, Sibyl Stetson Andrews of Greenfield, Mass., Irene Phelps of Springfield, Mass., Dorothy Galpin, Marian Warner. Mr. and Mrs. Holcombo h avo rrnnp nn a trip to Lake Champlain, after which they will go to their newly furnished homo in Southwick. Guests wero present from Boston, Southwick, Natick, Springfield and Greenfield, Mass., Gran-by, Conn., Troy, N. Y.. and Now York city. As tho bride and bridegroom stnrfpil on their honeymoon they were showered with confetti. This was tho first marriage ceremony to take place in the church since 1877. |
