BRIDE FORMERLY BRATTLEBORO GIRL Miss Lucia F. Gleason of Wardsboro Becomes Wife of Lawrence Holcombe of Westfield, Mass. A wedding of local interest took place yesterday afternoon in Wardsboro, when Miss Lucia Frances Gleason, daughter of John E. Gleason of Wardsboro, formerly of Brattleboro, was married to Lawrence Holcombe of Westfield, Mass. The ceremony took place in the Methodist church, Rev. Ashfield Ashford performing the ceremony in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. A single ring service was. used. The bridal party entered the church to the strains of the Bridal march from Lohengrin, pla.yed by the bridegroom s sister. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white net with veil fastened with white sweet peas and she carried white roses. Miss Amy Weeden of Brattleboro was bridesmaid and wore pink Georgette crepe and a pale pink picture hat. Miss Weeden also carried white roses. Two of the ushers were brothers of the bride, Martin Gleason, who is a cavalryman at Norwich university, who wore his cavalry uniform, and James Gleason of Wardsboro. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held in tlie town hall, which was a gift to the town by the brides great-uncle, James M. Gleason of Boston. Refreshments of ice-cream, cake and punch were served. Among those from Brattleboro who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Thompson, Miss Amy Weeden and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur P, Carpenter,! Mrs. Holcombe graduated from the Brattleboro high school, afterwards taking a course in kindergarten work in Boston. She has had a position as teacher of a primary grade in South-wick, Mass. Mr. Holcombe is manager of a cigar manufactory in Westfield, Mass.
